How our generator works

Underneath, a QR code is just a grid of black and white squares encoding your data in a standardized format, the same one your phone's camera and any barcode scanner already know how to read, whether that's an iPhone, an Android, or a dedicated handheld scanner at a checkout counter. Error correction is what makes the logo overlay possible at all: levels L through H control how much of the pattern can be damaged, covered, or obscured before the code stops scanning, and this generator raises that level automatically the moment you add a logo.

Are QR codes from this generator free forever?

Yes. Since these are static codes with the data encoded directly into the image, there's no ongoing service for us to charge for or shut down later. Generate one today and it'll scan exactly the same in ten years.

What's the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

A static code has your content baked directly into the pattern, so what you see is permanent and works offline. A dynamic code instead points to a short redirect URL that you can update later, which means it needs an active server behind it, and usually a subscription. Can I add a logo to my QR code?

Yes. Upload an image and it drops into the center of the code. The generator automatically raises the error correction level when you add a logo, so there's still enough redundant data in the pattern for scanners to read it correctly around the logo.

What file format should I download for printing?

SVG, if the file is going anywhere near a printer. It's a vector format, so it scales up to poster size or down to a tiny sticker without losing sharpness. PNG is fine for anything staying on a screen, but it'll get blurry or pixelated if you blow it up for large-format print.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Open the tool, build your code, download it. There's no account, no email capture, no login wall between you and your file.

Will my WiFi password be stored on your servers?

No. The WiFi QR type works the same way as every other type here. Your network name and password get encoded directly into the QR pattern inside your browser, and neither one is ever sent to us or stored anywhere on our end.

What error correction level should I use?

Higher correction (Q or H) if you're adding a logo, printing somewhere the surface might get scratched or dirty, or printing small. Lower correction (L or M) is fine for a clean digital display or a code that'll stay flat and undamaged. The generator bumps this automatically when you add a logo, so you usually don't need to think about it unless you're customizing manually.

Can I use these QR codes on product packaging?

Yes, with one practical note: export as SVG rather than PNG for anything going to a print run, since packaging often gets scaled or reprinted at different sizes and a vector file won't degrade. Test a printed sample before a full production run, the same way you'd proof any other packaging element.
